Description

I had a dream of carving a Tlingit totem pole and 3 large totem pole sized masks. This is the first of the 3 large masks. I chose to carve a mask that would represent my Clan, ,my Mother and my Siblings. As the project progressed it evolved into a Beautiful representation of ' How The chookaneidee Clan Earned The Rights To Use The Devilfish/Octopus As One Of Our Clan symbols. This Wonderful work of Art is truly a labor of Love. I didn't have a drawing of how this mask was going to look like when completed. It evolved into what it is, as I received inspiriation through dream, visions, and inspiriation as the carving progresses. I enjoy being in that creative place. "Finding My Way" is a part of my life as an artist! This beautiful mask is truly a monumental piece!
